Rodrick Ward, a southern California native and a promising safety in college football, has built a successful career showcasing his tenacity and skills on the field.

At 5-foot-11, 185 pounds, he is a hard-hitting and aggressive player known for his coverage abilities. His journey into football started at West Valley, Banning and Beaumont High Schools and continued at Mt. San Jacinto College after a transfer ruling forced him to sit out five games during his senior year of high school.

Despite this setback, Ward managed to record an impressive 35 tackles, an interception, and nine pass breakups in just nine games at Mt. San Jacinto College.

Ward transferred to Southern Utah University (SUU) where his performance continued to improve. He played off the bench in 2019, then became a starter during the Thunderbirds’ six-game spring season in 2021. Ward decided to redshirt in the fall of 2021 to develop his physique, which paid off in his breakout season. He recorded 52 tackles, four interceptions, and 11 pass breakups during his last season, earning him first team Phil Steele and Bluebloods All-WAC honors and a place in the top-10 in the nation for interceptions and passes defended (15) in the FCS.
